Sanitizing

Unlike seeds sold at grocery store bulk bins, all seeds sold by The Sprouting Company are batch tested for pathogens and are tested for high germination rate. If you are interested in an extra layer of food safety, you can sanitize your seeds and/or your harvested sprouts.


Seed & Harvested Sprout Sanitation (optional):

White vinegar* at 3% acid (3 parts vinegar + 2 parts water):
Soak for 15 minutes, then rinse and drain thoroughly prior to soaking.
or
Sodium hypochlorite/scent-free bleach (1 part bleach + 9 parts water):
Soak for 15 minutes, then rinse and drain thoroughly prior to soaking.

*May reduce seed germination.
